Short Description: RESQUNIT is a Norwegian oceantech company, developing innovative solutions for both securing fishing gear and to establish a more cost-efficient and environment-friendly way of fishing. Long Description: RESQUNIT develop innovative solutions for securing fishing-gear. We released our first product in 2019, called RESQUNIT S50. This is a floating device that secures fishing gear like lobster traps and crab pots. If a trap goes astray and remains under water for a longer period of time, RESQUNIT is released and floats to the surface. A rope is attached to RESQUNIT and the fishing gear, and the gear can be hauled and thus removed from the oceanfloor. The main goal with our products is to reduce economic losses for both fisheries and fishermen all over the world. This way, our solutions will prevent fishing gear from ending up as ghost gear on the oceanfloor. Ghostgear and ghostfishing is a huge global environmental challenge, threatening both economies and animals in the oceans. We are currently working on multiple solutions for different types of fishing-gear, combining modern technology and clever solutions.
